Academic Competition

ANNOUNCING: The North Carolina Homeschool Academic Tournament—Greater Charlotte Region*

WHO: Middle School Students

WHEN: Monday, November 7, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

WHERE: University Hills Baptist Church, 1500 Suther Road, Charlotte, NC

COST: $20 (plus $7 for a Chik-Fil-A lunch)


Organized by Dr. Tim Mizelle, retired college professor and former middle and secondary school educator, the North Carolina Home School Academic Tournament—Greater Charlotte Region competition will be a fun day of educational games. Based on Quiz Bowl or Jeopardy type questions, students will have the opportunity to “beat the buzzer” and be the first to answer questions on a wide range of middle school academic subjects.

North Carolinians for Home Education (NCHE) is pleased to work with Dr. Mizelle in his efforts to help learning be fun and rewarding. The three highest point winners of the day will receive trophies.

*You are welcome to attend any regional event.  Greater Charlotte Region is anywhere within convenient driving distance for you, including the upstate of South Carolina.  Other competitions are being considered for Asheville, the Triad and the Triangle.  Watch for info for your area.
